Early Years Education through IEYC
The journey at Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam begins with the International Early Years Curriculum, which builds foundational skills through play and hands-on exploration. While nurturing cognitive, physical, and emotional growth, the program incorporates guided meditation after lunch each day. Children engage in role-play and storytelling that develops empathy and collaboration, as educators maintain close communication with families to track progress and establish partnership from the earliest stage.
Primary School and International Primary Curriculum
As students advance into primary years, they follow the thematic IPC framework that weaves eight personal goals—from morality to adaptability—throughout subject learning. The curriculum spans mathematics, science, technology, history, geography, music, physical education, and art, with over 130 thematic units adapted to each child’s interests and understanding. This approach encourages learners to see connections across disciplines while examining topics from national, international, and cross-cultural perspectives, fostering an integrated worldview.
Middle School at Nord Anglia Rotterdam
The IMYC program guides the transition from primary to secondary education through inquiry-based learning across specialized subjects. During grades 7-9, students develop individual talents while maintaining academic rigor, which prepares them for what follows. In grades 10-11, Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam introduces Pre-IB—a bridging program specifically designed to ready students for the renowned IB Diploma Programme by building critical thinking skills and fostering independent work habits.
Three Pathways to Graduation
At the final stage, Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam offers a choice among three diplomas. The IB Diploma Programme requires six subjects—three standard, three higher level—plus a mandatory core: Theory of Knowledge, a 4,000-word research essay, and creativity, activity, service components. Meanwhile, the NAISR Academic Diploma requires a minimum of 24 credits across specialized disciplines and gains recognition from universities in the USA, Canada, Netherlands, and Europe. The NAISR General Diploma provides flexible structure with career-oriented elements for those pursuing alternative educational paths.
