In Cushing Academy, students dive deep into a variety of subjects to prepare for their journey ahead. From English to Mathematics, Science to History, and even Classical and Modern Languages, the curriculum covers it all.

Core Subjects

English classes focus on building solid reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through exploring different types of literature. Math courses, ranging from Algebra I to AP Calculus, challenge students to solve problems and think critically. In Science, students can explore Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and more, delving into specialized topics like Anatomy and Physiology. History and Social Science courses explore various cultures and periods, providing a well-rounded understanding of the world.

Specialized Programs

For those inclined towards the arts, Cushing offers extensive programs in visual and performing arts, guided by skilled professionals. Athletes find their place in the 36 teams across 13 sports, with opportunities for both seasoned players and newcomers. Additionally, the Academic Support program is there to assist students with learning differences, offering personalized coaching and group sessions.

Advanced and Honors Courses

Ambitious students can challenge themselves with a slew of AP courses, covering subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, and Languages. Honors courses provide an extra layer of challenge for those seeking it.

Extracurricular Activities

For those with a global outlook, the Global Studies Program offers immersive experiences and travel opportunities. The Entrepreneurship Program ignites innovative thinking, while the Sustainability Initiative fosters environmental awareness.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students need to earn at least 20 credits, including four years of English and Mathematics, three years of Science and History, and two years of the same language.
