Why Media

Creative opportunities at RUL stretch far beyond standard curricula. Students record soundtracks alongside the legendary Abbey Road Institute, while their work screens at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival—a BAFTA-qualifying event. Through partnerships with Delamar Academy and Ealing Studios, they access professional film industry spaces where actual productions happen.

Faculty members bring Hollywood filmmaking credits, Channel 4 and BBC production experience, plus award-winning commercial directing. This means graduates secure internships at BBC and BFI, building portfolios of creative projects under professionals who are actively shaping the industry.

Film and Screen Production

Film and Screen Production graduates have worked on Kneecap, 1917, The Crown, The Witcher, Vigil—taking roles as directors, VFX producers, cinematographers, and marketing managers. From day one at Regent’s University London, students produce, direct, and edit their own films while experimenting with techniques for real clients. Between Heaven and Earth, a recent collaborative project, demonstrates how preparation spans from ideation through distribution, covering drama, documentary, and advertising formats.

Media and Communications at Regent’s University

Media and Communications BA (Hons) explores how media shapes social, cultural, and political processes. Students master content creation for Web3 and the metaverse, studying emerging platforms alongside trend analysis technologies. London’s location delivers guest lectures from Meta, Google, Wunder, Harrods, and McLaren Automotive representatives, plus tours of BBC and The Guardian offices. At their disposal: professional Red, Sony, and Black Magic cameras, foley studios, and complimentary Adobe Creative Cloud licenses.

Screenwriting and Producing

An Oscar-nominated screenwriter and BAFTA-winning producer lead the Screenwriting and Producing BA (Hons) program. Alumni achievements range from associate producer on the BAFTA film Kneecap to directing the Emmy series Vigil. What sets this program apart: second-year study at Vancouver Film School. Students at Regent’s University London merge creative development with practical project management—pitching, writing, directing, fundraising, distribution—culminating in their own short film during the final year.

Content Creation

The Content Creation MA prepares specialists who build powerful brand-consumer connections. Creative Studio develops expertise across practical areas, from digital photography to video production. Digital Media Communications

The international media landscape evolves at unprecedented speed as AI transforms content creation and personalization. Media and Digital Communications MA explores virtual and augmented reality possibilities while addressing data security and ethics. Students collaborate with organizations like Football for Peace, developing full-scale campaigns. An immersive residential in Scotland provides space for reflection and networking, preparing graduates for roles at The Art Newspaper, TF1 Television Paris, and Norwegian Space Agency.
