International Boarding School

Cobham Hall welcomes students aged 11-19 for day and boarding education. Having operated for over 60 years, it evolved from a traditional girls’ school into a fully co-educational environment when Sixth Form became co-ed in 2023. The diverse international community enriches learning through cultural exchange, while the institution’s visa sponsorship status enables it to support successful overseas applicants throughout their journey—though boarding students must arrange a UK-based guardian residing nearby.

Application Process

Families can apply independently or through partner agencies. The process begins with submitting a registration form and a non-refundable £240 fee via FlyWire. Applicants then provide passport copies, two years of academic transcripts, and relevant medical documentation by email. Once the admissions team reviews these materials, they’ll invite candidates to the next stage, ensuring a swift response to complete applications.

Candidate Assessment

Though not academically selective, Cobham Hall uses assessments to understand each child’s learning style and strengths. Candidates complete the CAT4 cognitive test (90 minutes), Oxford Placement Test (40-80 minutes), and a written task (40 minutes)—or submit UKiSET results instead. Following successful assessment, they attend interviews with the EAL coordinator (for non-native speakers) and headteacher, conducted either online or in person.

Scholarships and Support

After receiving an offer, candidates may apply for scholarships covering 20% of fees. Awards recognize excellence in art, music, sport, and drama for Years 7-10, while Sixth Formers can earn academic scholarships in their A-Level subjects. Meanwhile, the EAL department provides language instruction and adaptation guidance, helping international students transition smoothly into British boarding life through tailored lessons and consultation.
