Main Admission Process
Appleford School offers a nurturing educational environment tailored for students aged 7 to 18 with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia. The admission process is thoughtfully crafted to ensure that each student’s unique needs are met. It is important to note that the program is not designed for students with behavioral issues.
Stages of Admission to Appleford School
The journey to joining Appleford School begins with an initial contact with the registrar. During this conversation, the child’s needs are discussed, and their educational reports are reviewed. If it seems that Appleford could be the right fit, parents are then invited for a visit to the school.
Following the parents’ visit, a taster visit is arranged for the prospective student. This visit allows for an assessment of how well the child adapts to the school environment through various screening evaluations, including LASS and Lucid. Teachers and boarding staff carefully observe the student’s performance and interactions. Based on these observations, the headmaster makes a decision about offering a place at Appleford School.
International Students
Appleford School warmly welcomes international students. It is essential that they have a good command of the English language, as this is crucial for them to thrive in the curriculum. The school also understands the unique circumstances faced by military families and strives to offer a supportive admission process to meet their needs effectively.
