Academic Curriculum

Buckswood School offers several classic programs: GCSE, A-level, and IB. For those planning to enter university through an alternative route, there’s a one- or two-year Foundation course — it provides broad preparation in business and helps students orient themselves before starting higher education.

GCSE Subjects

The program includes mandatory disciplines that form the foundation for further studies:

  • English Language
  • English Literature
  • IGCSE Mathematics (including combined double-reward with higher mathematics)
  • GCSE Science (physics+chemistry+biology, or two advanced subjects from these)
  • Modern Language (one of the following: French, Spanish, or Chinese)

IB Subjects

The International Baccalaureate program requires students not only to pursue academic preparation but also to participate in physical education, charity work, and the Theory of Knowledge course, which develops critical thinking through essays and presentations. The subjects themselves are divided into three higher-level and three standard-level — one discipline from each block.
