Creative Infrastructure at CSVPA

The school models its environment after professional studios, providing spaces for graphics, illustration, fashion, and design—complete with darkrooms and experimental zones. Materials like printing supplies, fabrics, and pattern paper come free, ensuring that financial constraints don’t interrupt the creative process. Students access these studios seven days a week, working in small groups where instructors offer personalized guidance. This setup allows them to experiment, make mistakes, and refine their work without pressure.

Three Academic Buildings

CSVPA operates through three buildings, each serving distinct disciplines. Bridge House, the main facility, houses visual arts studios and student services. Sturton Street focuses on performing arts with fourteen studios—seven featuring Harlequin flooring—and a theater spanning over 1,800 square feet with seating for a hundred. Graduate students and those in Pre-Masters programs work in the Graduate Centre at Friar House, which includes computer stations, a photo studio, stop-motion animation resources, and a student lounge.

Student Life

Students can live in Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts dormitories located in the city center, surrounded by creative energy. Sharing space with peers fosters an environment where inspiration emerges not just during classes but through everyday conversations. Studios and the library remain open on weekends, giving students continuous access to their work.
