English Language Centre
Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts maintains a dedicated centre where English teachers work with all students. Beyond this language support, the school employs a learning coordinator who assists those needing help with time management and study strategies.
English remains the sole language spoken in academic spaces, allowing students to adapt naturally and develop their communication skills through everyday interaction.
Academic English Programme
Those who don’t meet language requirements can enroll in an intensive Academic English programme. Here they develop all four skills—listening, reading, writing, and speaking—while mastering vocabulary and grammar for academic and everyday life.
The programme also introduces artistic language and nurtures critical thinking. Groups are organized by proficiency, ensuring each student progresses comfortably. Participants communicate solely in English and commit to at least 10 hours of independent study weekly.
Integrated Learning and IELTS
Students already enrolled at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts receive a minimum of five hours of English instruction weekly: two sessions of 2.5 hours each, plus two hours of assignments. This arrangement keeps schedules flexible while allowing them to balance language learning with their main course.
Since achieving the necessary IELTS score proves essential for university admission, CSVPA instructors draw on extensive exam preparation experience. Beyond test readiness, the programme strengthens academic skills and enables fluent English use throughout their studies.
Pre-sessional Language Programme at CSVPA
Undergraduate or graduate applicants falling short of language requirements can complete a 12-week pre-sessional course. The programme cultivates skills for attending lectures, note-taking, and engaging in academic discussions, while also refining presentation abilities.
At the course’s conclusion, students face assessment across all four skills: writing, speaking, listening, and reading. Successful completion becomes mandatory before they can begin their studies at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts.
