School Principles and Well-being

Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts cultivates an atmosphere where students feel secure enough to unlock their creative potential. Staff build a family-like environment rooted in mutual trust and respect, making each person’s well-being their primary focus. The community upholds strict equal opportunity principles regardless of ability, religion, culture or background, while teachers encourage tolerance and positive interaction that helps students grow intellectually, spiritually, culturally and socially.

Support Team

The well-being team works with everyone who struggles with homesickness, isolation, or simply needs someone to listen. Early in the year, specialists hold conversations about adjusting to Cambridge and its culture—particularly valuable for international students. Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts also arranges professional consultations where any concerns can be discussed confidentially, runs sessions on sex education, tolerance and British values, and provides a dedicated space for spiritual practice where students can spend time alone.

Academic Support at CSVPA

Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts places special emphasis on supporting students with particular educational needs. The Special Educational Needs Coordinator works individually with each one, organizing personal sessions, helping them master assistive technologies like screen readers, and extending deadlines when necessary. For international students adapting to a new language and country, CSVPA operates a personal mentoring system and specialized language centre, while an academic support coordinator helps develop time management and effective study skills.

Medical Care and Services

Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts houses its own medical centre with qualified nurses and assistants who assess students’ health, advise on nutrition and healthy living, and refer them to doctors and dentists. Everyone registers with a local clinic at the start of the year for quick access to qualified care when needed. Meanwhile, student services handles organizational matters—from preparing bank letters to assisting international students with police registration. The office on Round Church Street campus welcomes anyone unsure where to direct their questions.
