International Student Body

Cambridge Tutors College brings together around 120 students from more than 25 countries, creating a diverse community where perspectives from Russia, Ukraine, China, Thailand, Nigeria, Myanmar, and many other nations converge. This international mix shapes daily life at the college, where students naturally encounter different cultures and approaches to learning.

Personal Attention

With 40 teachers supporting 120 students, the college maintains an environment where individual needs don’t get lost in the crowd. Classes average just six people, which means each student receives focused guidance throughout their studies. This setup allows teachers to adapt their approach based on how different students learn best.

Academic Profile

Over the past 15 years, the college has built particular strength in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Most graduates go on to top UK universities, typically pursuing degrees in Mathematics and Statistics, Economics, Administration, or Management—a pattern that reflects how thoroughly the college prepares students in quantitative and business disciplines.

Admission to A-Level

Students applying for the A-level program need IELTS 5.5 when selecting three subjects, or IELTS 6.0 for those taking four. By the time they finish, most aim for IELTS 7.0 or higher, which is what universities typically require.

Study Programs

As a Sixth Form college, Cambridge Tutors College offers several pathways. The primary one is A-level—Britain’s main upper secondary qualification—which is also available as an 18-month intensive option for those who need a faster route.

NCUK Foundation

The NCUK Foundation program helps international students transition to UK higher education while securing guaranteed places at partner universities, including:

  • Aston
  • Birmingham
  • Bradford
  • Bristol
  • Huddersfield
  • Kent
  • Kingston
  • Leeds
  • Manchester
  • Queen Mary
  • Sheffield and others

Two variants are available: the standard Foundation (September start, one year, IELTS 5.0 minimum) and the International variant (January start, two semesters, IELTS 5.5). Both let students choose between Business or Science and Engineering tracks.

GCSE One Year

Though primarily a Sixth Form college, Cambridge Tutors College also runs an accelerated GCSE program. Students cover core subjects like English and Mathematics alongside optional choices, completing in one year what typically takes two elsewhere. The program starts in September and requires applicants to be 15-16 years old with IELTS 5.0.

Pre-GCSE

Younger students aged 14-16 with lower English proficiency (IELTS 3.5) can start with Pre-GCSE, which builds language skills alongside subject knowledge. Beyond core classes, the program includes:

  • IELTS Exam
  • Mathematics GCSE
  • Science and Engineering
  • Architecture and Creative Arts
  • Economics, Business and Social Sciences
