Boarding

Three Residential Buildings

The boarding system comprises three houses that together create a home away from home for students from approximately 25 countries. Harriet House occupies the historic wing overlooking park lawns, while Stuart House, which opened in 2023, sits in the eastern section of the same building. This structure allows older students to enjoy independent spaces while younger ones receive closer supervision, though all three houses remain united through shared traditions and cross-age activities.

Comfort and Spaces

Each room provides what students need for both studying and relaxation: a bed with storage drawers, a desk featuring integrated lighting and USB ports, a comfortable chair, and a double wardrobe with mirror. Beyond private spaces, residents enjoy common areas equipped with gaming consoles like Nintendo Switch and PS5, interactive televisions, and even a jukebox. Every house includes a fully equipped kitchen, with Harriet House placing its kitchen on the lower floor so all residents can prepare their own meals whenever they wish.

International Atmosphere

Cultural diversity shapes daily life as students celebrate Nigerian Independence Day, host American Thanksgiving dinners, and discover each other’s traditions through shared evenings and outings. This environment naturally expands their worldview through genuine peer connections rather than formal lessons. The flexibility of boarding arrangements—full boarding, weekly with weekend departures, or occasional overnight stays—suits different families’ needs, while regular excursions explore the surroundings and London, which lies just thirty minutes away.

Student Care at Cobham Hall

Round-the-clock pastoral care ensures house parents remain available to address everything from academic challenges to personal concerns, fostering an atmosphere where students feel both secure and supported. The daily rhythm includes three proper meals plus snacks throughout the day, with older students cooking independently in their house kitchens while younger ones dine together and practice cooking under supervision during evenings and weekends. Laundry collection happens two to four times weekly, with clean items returned within a couple of days.
