Getting to Know the Candidate

Rather than following standard procedures, Eerde International Boarding School Netherlands focuses on personal connection with each prospective student. The school staff meets candidates individually—whether through campus visits, virtual tours, or video calls—to understand their motivation and educational aspirations. During these conversations, they explore academic achievements, interests, and future plans while reviewing transcripts to assess preparation levels. Placement decisions factor in age, social-emotional maturity, academic performance, and current grade. Whenever possible, candidates are invited to spend a trial day at campus, attending classes and experiencing both day and boarding life firsthand.

Documents and Testing

Families work with the school through the OpenApply platform, where they register and upload required documents. After the interview, candidates complete the iDAT assessment, which evaluates mathematics, English proficiency, and critical thinking skills through an online format accessible from home. Some students might also need to verify their language abilities via Duolingo. These results help the team accurately gauge academic readiness and match students with programs that align with their capabilities and needs.

Registration and Visas

Once accepted, families get an official enrollment letter and submit their registration fee that secures their spot and initiates preparation for arrival. For international students requiring visas, Eerde International Boarding School Netherlands provides all necessary documentation and clear guidance on applying through Dutch visa centers. Those needing visas must pay 50% of total tuition to start the visa process, with the remaining amount due one month before the academic year starts.

Eerde International Boarding School Requirements

The IB Diploma and IB Career Focused programs demand significant self-reliance, dedication, and consistent effort from students who thrive with intensive academic challenges. Pre-IB applicants must have finished 9th grade, be at least 15 years old by the start of the academic year, and demonstrate English proficiency at IELTS 4.0 or equivalent. The full diploma program requires at least six IGCSE subjects with grades A* to C—including mathematics and English—or similar qualifications, plus IELTS 6.0 for non-native speakers. Students not fully meeting these criteria may enter under academic supervision with additional coordinator support.
