Philosophy of Balance and Development
Ermitage International School believes regular physical activity underpins both balance and academic achievement, which is why partnerships with local sports clubs give students access to diverse disciplines—from team games to individual pursuits. Some choose recreational activities through on-campus sections for well-being, while others aim for competitive play with the Mustangs teams. This flexible approach develops athletic skills regardless of where anyone starts.
Ermitage Mustangs Teams
Competitive squads participate in tournaments across France and beyond. Basketball players travel annually to Denmark for the Round Square international tournament, football teams face clubs from the Paris region, and golfers regularly advance to national championships. One student reached the French rowing finals in both 2012 and 2014, while a graduate went on to represent Britain’s national ski team. Adventure trips to the Alps and Atlantic surfing sessions with professional instructors round out the calendar.
Equestrian Sports at Ermitage International School
Maisons-Laffitte’s location offers a unique advantage—the town is known as the region’s equestrian capital thanks to its heritage and first-rate infrastructure. The neighboring Saint-Germain-en-Laye forest provides 65 kilometers of maintained trails, while local stables and arenas rank among the finest near Paris. Ermitage International School has built partnerships with leading clubs, including Jumping de Maisons-Laffitte, where students access professional arenas for dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. They can lease horses or bring their own, since the campus provides everything needed for care and training.
Professional Training Programs
Two specialized tracks serve dedicated riders at Ermitage International School. Passion suits enthusiasts without competitive goals: two weekly group sessions, forest rides, fitness work, and five annual tournaments fit into the academic schedule. Competition prepares participants for regional and national show jumping events through four sessions with top coaches, monthly masterclasses, psychology sessions, and ten yearly tournaments. Candidates undergo entrance testing, and the curriculum adapts to each student’s personal athletic objectives.
