GEMS World Academy Abu Dhabi combines International Baccalaureate programs with England’s National Curriculum, creating an approach where IB’s broad concepts are reinforced by structured British standards. Students follow this unified system from early years through Grade 11, and the academy recently expanded its offerings to include Grade 13:

  • EYFS — play-based learning for the youngest
  • PYP — primary years with interdisciplinary themes
  • MYP — middle school for ages 11–16
  • New IB DP and IB CP programs for senior years starting 2026

At its core, High-Performance Learning methodology guides these stages, helping each child develop independence, creative thinking, and deeper understanding of material.

Program Features

In primary years, globally significant themes become central to learning, with traditional subjects serving as tools for exploring bigger ideas. Students learn to question, hypothesize, and analyze critically. This logic continues into middle school, where learners engage with eight subject groups that ensure balanced education while emphasizing interdisciplinary projects, creativity, and community work—preparing them for future stages with well-developed critical thinking and independent learning skills.

Senior Years Programs

Having recently completed authorization for IB Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme, the academy now offers two distinct pathways. IB Diploma combines six subject groups with theory of knowledge, extended essay, and creativity-action-service project, preparing graduates for leading universities worldwide. Meanwhile, IB CP serves those who’ve identified their professional direction, merging academic IB courses with practical training through internships and industry projects—developing skills for both successful careers and university education simultaneously.
