Personal Mentors and House System

At the heart of school life lies a personal tutor system that helps students discover their strengths and passions. Everyone belongs to one of four houses—Effra, Fleet, Tyburn, and Walbrook—named after London’s hidden underground rivers. These houses regularly compete in arts, music, and sports, teaching teamwork and gracious winning or losing. Tutor groups span multiple years: 7-8 together and 9-11 together, so younger students can learn by watching their peers prepare for GCSE and A-level exams.

Care for Well-being at Kensington Park School

Every child’s health and happiness matters most. Students receive support from personal tutors, year heads, a safeguarding team, and an on-site nurse. Alongside academics runs the PSHE course (personal, social, health, and economic development), which prepares them for adult life by exploring health, relationships, and navigating modern society. Through these sessions, they learn to make thoughtful decisions and understand the consequences of their actions.

Individual Care and Mentorship

Kensington Park School believes children thrive when they feel happy and secure. As a relatively small community, it knows each student personally, values their individuality, and supports their growth. Tutors become central figures throughout the school years, building strong connections between students, families, and teachers that help everyone succeed with confidence. They also maintain close contact with parents through progress updates sent every fortnight.

Support Across Age Groups

Years 7-8 build foundations for future success in horizontal groups with housemates, keeping the same tutor both years to foster belonging and friendship. From Year 9 onward, students join vertical groups where younger ones observe older peers preparing for exams. In senior years, tutors at Kensington Park School guide university and career choices while helping balance academics, extracurriculars, and healthy living.
