Examinations
For eight consecutive years, Leweston School has maintained GCSE results above the national average, with more than a third of all grades falling within the top 9–7 range. A-level results show a similarly strong performance, with over a third of students achieving A* and A grades.
In 2025, seven graduates collectively achieved 14 A* grades and 5 A grades, exceeding their predicted grades by one or two levels — a result often attributed to the highly personalised teaching approach developed by the school’s staff.
Pentathlon and Equestrian Sports
Leweston School is one of just nine official training hubs recognised by Pentathlon GB across the United Kingdom, offering training in all five modern pentathlon disciplines: running, swimming, fencing, shooting, and the obstacle discipline.
Students regularly compete at national and international level, with several representing Great Britain and achieving European and world junior titles in endurance sports such as duathlon and triathlon.
Meanwhile, the school’s equestrian team has won the South West Regional Points League championship organised by the National Schools Equestrian Association for seven consecutive years. Over the past two seasons, Leweston riders have also achieved the highest overall points total across all nine regional divisions within the association.
Recognition and Awards
Leweston School holds accreditation from the Royal College of Organists, recognising the high standard of its choral and organ training.
The The Good Schools Guide has highlighted the school’s strong sense of community, personalised educational approach, and wide range of opportunities for developing individual talents.
In addition, Leweston School was shortlisted for the Independent Schools of the Year Awards in the Careers Guidance category in both 2024 and 2025.
