Admission Policy

Leweston School welcomes students from primary school through to Sixth Form, offering both day and full boarding options. While entry is possible at various stages, the main intake points align with key transition years — specifically Year 7, Year 9, and the beginning of Sixth Form in Year 12. Each family follows a personalised admissions pathway that includes assessments, interviews, and opportunities to experience the school through taster days or overnight stays in the boarding houses. International candidates can arrange online meetings with the Head and receive guidance with visa documentation.

Application Process and Requirements

Once families complete the online registration (£100–£120), candidates sit tests in English and mathematics, while Sixth Form applicants also take exams in their chosen subjects alongside a 500-word essay. Following this, applicants take part in a video interview with the Director of International Admissions or her deputy to discuss their academic ambitions and plans for their time at the school. A place is confirmed with a deposit — £500 for European families or £3,500 for others — which is later deducted from the final fees. Leweston School holds a UK Visas & Immigration licence and provides CAS references for child student visas.

Getting to Know the School

Leweston School offers taster days for small, age-matched groups, where each visitor is paired with a personal mentor who guides them through lessons and activities. Families considering boarding can also arrange overnight stays, allowing students to experience evening routines and connect with current boarders. The Equestrian Boarding Taster programme is particularly distinctive, combining boarding with daily access to the equestrian academy, where students can train, care for horses, and explore how academics can be balanced with riding. The Head regularly meets international families online and occasionally conducts face-to-face interviews during overseas visits.

Tuition Fees at Leweston School

Annual fees for three terms are £22,833 for day students or £37,080 for full boarders in Years 7–8, rising to £24,465 or £41,166 in Years 9–11, and £23,919 or £41,166 in Sixth Form (2026 rates). Families with more than one child at the school receive sibling discounts: the younger of two children receives 5%, while in families with three children the second receives 5% and the youngest 10%. Bursaries covering 10–20% of day fees are available for families who share Leweston’s values but face financial constraints, provided both parents are in employment. Payments can be made in any currency through Flywire, which offers round-the-clock support in multiple languages.
