Music
From Year 2 onwards, students can take private lessons in voice, piano, organ, strings, and woodwind instruments, preparing for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams up to diploma level. The school maintains two choirs — Schola Cantorum for senior students and the Choir Group for Years 7–8 — both performing at Mass and special events. Alongside this, the Community Orchestra brings together current students, parents, and alumni, while additional ensembles include a baroque group, jazz band, and Worship Band.
Visual Arts
The Norfolk Art and Design Centre houses dedicated studios for painting, fashion, sculpture, photography, and ceramics, all available as subjects at GCSE and A-level. The facility includes a darkroom, sewing workshop, and equipment for laser cutting and 3D printing. Graduates have gone on to institutions such as Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, and the University of Brighton, later working with brands including Vivienne Westwood and retailers such as Selfridges.
Theatre at Leweston School
Theatre productions involve students of all ages, ranging from Christmas plays to whole-school musicals and Sixth Form productions — recent performances have included Les Misérables. GCSE Drama students create original work and attend professional theatre performances, while A-level Drama combines academic study with stage practice. LAMDA classes are offered separately, preparing students for speech and performance examinations up to Grade 8.
Scholarships
Scholarships in art, music, and theatre are available for entry into Year 7, Year 9, and Sixth Form, offering annual fee reductions, extended studio access, and individual tuition. Artists submit portfolios, musicians audition on two instruments, and actors perform two contrasting pieces. In addition, scholars take leadership roles in the arts community at Leweston School — mentoring younger students, participating in professional workshops, and organising exhibitions or performances.
