Modern Pentathlon

Leweston School is one of just nine official Pentathlon GB training hubs in the UK, covering all five disciplines: running, swimming, fencing, shooting, and the obstacle discipline. Training follows three levels — Development introduces newcomers through local competitions, Potential supports advancing athletes at regional tournaments, while Performance (from Year 9 onwards) prepares students for national and international events.

Equestrian at Leweston School

Leweston has won seven consecutive Regional Points League titles through the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) and has twice topped the national standings across all nine British regions, establishing itself as one of the country’s leading school equestrian programmes.

A partnership with Chedington Equestrian, a world-class centre, provides access to Olympic-standard facilities, including show-jumping arenas and cross-country courses ranging from British Eventing Novice to Advanced level. Teams compete regularly in NSEA, British Showjumping, British Eventing, and British Dressage competitions.

Infrastructure

Leweston School features an all-weather hockey pitch that converts into nine tennis courts during the summer months. The sports hall accommodates netball and four badminton courts, while a heated 25-metre indoor swimming pool and a Technogym fitness suite complete the core facilities.

Performance Pathway and Scholarship programmes are available in sport, pentathlon, and equestrianism at entry to Year 7, Year 9, and Sixth Form, providing personalised coaching, strength and conditioning support, and guidance in competition preparation.
