Football and Rugby

At Lucton School, football is a year-round passion, engaging students of all ages. Training sessions for senior students follow a strict schedule and are complemented by competitive matches against local schools. The school’s football program also includes its own cup competitions, enhancing the spirit of rivalry.

Rugby, another cornerstone of the Lucton School sports program, has a historical connection with the local rugby club. Students start with tag rugby, then progress to full contact and have the opportunity to participate in prestigious tournaments such as the Jonny Wilkinson Cup and ISA Midlands Sevens.

Netball and Cricket at Lucton School

Girls start playing netball from third grade, focusing on skill development, physical fitness, and tactics. The netball teams at Lucton School are strong, with several players competing at the county level.

Cricket, known as the quintessence of English sport, involves teams from U9 to U18 participating in local and regional competitions. The school has achieved significant success, including becoming U11s Midlands ISA champions.

Swimming and Equestrian at Lucton School

The swimming program at Lucton caters to all skill levels, from beginners to competitive swimmers, and the heated indoor pool allows for year-round training. The school has earned recognition as ISA National Triathlon Boys’ Champions, showcasing the strength of its athletes in swimming and multisport events.

Lucton School’s equestrian program, set on 14 acres of scenic countryside, offers lessons and opportunities to compete in dressage, show jumping, and eventing. Students can even bring their own horses, with options for full or working livery available.

Tennis and Badminton

Tennis training is available year-round, catering to both recreational players and competitive athletes. Badminton, enjoyed by both local and international students, provides an alternative for those interested in individual sports. Lucton School’s facilities and coaching staff support rapid skill development, with competitive matches enhancing the experience.

Additional Sports

Lacrosse and hockey are offered during the winter and spring seasons, introducing students to fast-paced team sports that require agility and coordination. Lucton also offers basketball, appealing to senior students and international students familiar with the sport. These additional sports give students the opportunity to explore new interests and find their niche within the school’s sports program.
