Why Media
Middlesex University Dubai has built an impressive collection of awards — among them PRCA MENA 2024 and MEPRA 2022, while Forbes Middle East back in 2019 recognized it as the best media centre in the MENA region, highlighting its cutting-edge technology and creative approach. That same year, Dubai Lynx awarded it “University of the Year” status, cementing its reputation as a flagship. Students work on real projects and complete internships, while graduates are already setting trends in the UAE’s media sphere and beyond.
Bachelor’s in Advertising, PR and Branding
The BA Honours Advertising, PR, and Branding programme combines three disciplines — the only such course in Dubai, recognized by the International Advertising Association (IAA). Students learn to create campaigns, analyse data and work with generative AI, as well as build ethical communication. They explore case studies in social media PR, place branding and promotional video production, while completing internships with Middlesex University Dubai partners. This prepares them to become brand strategists, content managers or art directors.
Bachelor’s in Creative Writing and Journalism
BA Honours Creative Writing and Journalism merges writing craft with journalistic practice. Students try their hand at fiction, documentary, screenwriting and multimedia journalism, mastering storytelling and digital platforms. They create compelling characters, conduct investigations and adapt texts for different formats, while exploring immersive storytelling. Such training opens paths into copywriting, media resource management or independent projects.
Bachelor’s in Digital Media and Communications
BA Honours Digital Media and Communications trains versatile specialists for the digital age — they edit videos, create animation, design websites and analyse big data using Adobe Creative Cloud. Students work through case studies on data visualisation and social media analysis, honing skills through internships and real projects. These competencies help build careers in digital marketing, e-commerce or brand management — as content creators, UX designers or digital campaign managers.
Bachelor’s in Film at Middlesex University Dubai
The BA Honours Film programme combines production practice with cinema theory. Students bring ideas to life in MDX Studios — a modern film complex on campus where everything follows the “concept to premiere” principle. They master shooting, editing, film promotion, sound and lighting work, while advanced modules let them try producing or directing music videos. Many graduates continue their careers at BBC or Netflix, while others launch their own studios.
