Admission

Documents and Requirements

Minerva’s Virtual Academy welcomes students from Years 7 through 11, meaning children aged 11 to 18, regardless of their previous academic background. Those who’ve been homeschooled are also welcome, provided they’re prepared for independent study. The admission process requires standard documentation: the student’s ID, most recent school report with grades, details about their previous school, plus a photograph and email address. Families should submit medical reports if their child has health considerations or requires specialized learning support. All files must stay under 1 MB, and sixth-formers planning to pursue A Levels should note that certain subjects carry additional prerequisites, which the admissions team can clarify.

Cost and Payment

Tuition at Minerva’s Virtual Academy stands at £8,830 per academic year (2025 rates), with VAT already factored in. British families can choose monthly or termly installments, though these options carry a slight premium over paying upfront. International students, however, must settle the full amount in advance without payment plans. When enrollment begins mid-year, families only pay for the remaining period—calculated proportionally based on which term the student joins. The BTEC programme operates differently, requiring full advance payment regardless of start date.

Flexible Admission Schedule

Rather than limiting enrollment to September, Minerva’s Virtual Academy admits new students throughout the year, with multiple entry points each term. This flexibility suits families relocating or switching educational formats mid-year particularly well. Students needn’t always join the year group matching their age—sometimes placing them differently benefits their learning, especially when their preparation diverges significantly from peers’. The school also accommodates families across time zones, ideally within five hours of GMT, though this remains flexible. Since September 2025, Years 9-10 students from the Gulf, Middle East, and East Africa can follow the specialized GST timetable, which schedules classes at regionally convenient times.

Support and Adaptation in Minerva’s Virtual Academy

Every family receives personalized guidance, with admissions staff helping identify the optimal pathway for each child. Transitioning to the British curriculum typically proceeds smoothly, though occasionally the team suggests moving up or down a year—decisions that depend on how the student’s academic preparation compares with British standards. Previous study under different examination boards rarely poses obstacles, and families can always consult the school’s team if uncertainties arise. Should extra help prove necessary, tutors from Minerva Tutors—the academy’s sister organization—offer additional lessons. One crucial consideration: families must verify their country’s regulations, as some nations prohibit home or virtual education.
