Navigating Admissions at Oundle School
Entry Points and Process
Oundle School, a leading co-educational boarding and day school in the UK, offers three main entry points at 11+, 13+, and 16+. Each entry point has its own unique admissions process tailored to suit the needs of prospective students.
11+ Entry
For 11+ entry, Oundle School recommends registration one to two years prior to entry. Prospective students take an online Cognitive Abilities Test in November of Year 6. Those not from prep schools undergo Oundle’s own entrance examinations, including assessments in Mathematics, English, Science, and a Modern Foreign Language, along with an informal interview.
13+ Entry
At 13+ entry, Oundle School accepts 220 pupils each year into Year 9. Registration is recommended three to four years prior to entry, ideally before the start of Year 6. The admissions process includes submission of a reference letter and school report. Offers are made during the Spring term of Year 6 based on a satisfactory school report.
16+ Entry
For 16+ entry into Sixth Form, Oundle School welcomes strong applications with a minimum entry requirement of three subjects at Grade 6 and three at Grade 7, or equivalent at GCSE. Higher grades, particularly Grade 7, 8, or 9, in subjects to be taken at Sixth Form are highly desirable.
