English Language Centre

Ratcliffe’s new English Language Centre, built with a £2.5 million investment, became the first carbon-neutral building on campus. The facility houses nine classrooms and four atriums, where passive ventilation monitors CO₂ levels to maintain fresh air throughout. Its environmental credentials include a sedum roof alongside 40 solar panels, while air-source heat pumps recover excess heat to boost efficiency.

Catering at Ratcliffe College

The college replaced its outdated kitchen facilities with purpose-designed spaces that meet current standards. Two serving stations now feature storage and cooling zones for produce, drinks, and a salad bar, complemented by ceramic hobs that bring advanced cooking technology. Transparent displays let students watch their meals being prepared, while boarders can request personalized dishes for breakfast, supper, and weekends to match their dietary preferences.

Rosmini Centre

The Rosmini Sixth Form Centre provides a dedicated space where 16-18 year olds pursue their A Level studies. At its core sits a specialized careers office, reflecting how seriously the college takes university and professional preparation. Modern study areas accommodate both solo work and collaborative projects, while the venue hosts open evenings for prospective students and INSPIRE program lectures with guest speakers.

Sports Facilities

Ratcliffe College maintains extensive sporting provision across campus:

• Floodlit tennis and netball courts
• Two all-weather pitches
• A £1.3 million fitness center
• A second sports hall near the preparatory school, built for £2.3 million
• A full-size floodlit astroturf pitch and synthetic athletics track, completed in 2017
• A 25-meter pool used year-round for swimming lessons, curriculum classes, training, and local club events

Lockhart Garden

Created in 2019, Lockhart Garden offers students a contemplative retreat inspired by Catholic tradition. Designer Ashley Lynch worked with students, parents, and staff to develop this central campus feature, whose fountain bears the college motto: “Legis Plenitudo Caritas” – “Love is the fulfillment of the Law.” The fountain’s stone traveled from Stresa in Northern Italy, hometown of Collegio Rosmini’s founder.
