Founded in 1847, Ratcliffe College received an “Excellent” rating across all ISI inspection criteria in 2022. Accommodation Options

Ratcliffe College offers single, double, and triple rooms, each equipped with a desk, sink, and mirror. While single rooms are primarily available to students in Years 12 and 13, younger students can request them if space permits. The boarding houses also include shared bathrooms, showers, common areas, kitchens, and computer rooms.

Personalized Attention

At A Level, classes average just 7 students with a maximum of 14, while GCSE groups average 12 (maximum 22). EAL classes are even smaller—4 students on average, with a maximum of 12. Entry to Sixth Form requires subject-specific entrance exams, though the college’s ranking in the top 1% of schools for A Level value-added makes it worthwhile.

International Student Support

International students entering Year 12 need an IELTS score of at least 5.5, while others can take an internal English assessment. Ratcliffe College provides comprehensive career preparation through mentoring, internships, career fairs, workshops, and mock interviews.
