Examination Results

In 2025, Sherfield School students achieved their best results in five years. More than half earned grades 7–9 on GCSE exams, while in sciences and mathematics—physics, biology, and maths—up to 68% reached that same high bar. For A-Level, 41% of grades over the past three years fell within A*–A range, and the previous cohort exceeded predictions by three-quarters of a grade on average, which ranks among the country’s highest value-added scores.

Inspection Assessment

During their 2024 visit, ISI inspectors noted that all students make strong progress thanks to individual support from teachers, who draw on a wide range of approaches and demonstrate deep subject knowledge. What particularly impressed inspectors was the atmosphere of care: boarders feel known and supported, while the values of Respect, Courage, and Kindness permeate every level, from younger pupils through to sixth-formers who model these principles daily.

Sherfield School Sports Success

The golf team won the national championship for under-14s in 2022, and in summer 2024, three of its members simultaneously took top spots in their age groups at the Hampshire County Championship. Meanwhile, the tennis academy competes regularly at county and national levels, offering up to ten hours of weekly training that includes video analysis and strength conditioning—its “sport for all” philosophy ensures every student finds a discipline that resonates.

Co-Curricular Achievements

Beyond traditional British programmes, sixth-formers at Sherfield School can pursue the International Advanced Diploma in partnership with the University of Melbourne, which develops seven key 21st-century skills and grants access to mentorship at institutions like Yale, Durham, and Villars Institute. Students also engage with renowned leadership schemes—Duke of Edinburgh Gold, Young Enterprise, WWF environmental leadership qualifications—while school prefects organise charity campaigns and attend leadership conferences in Seoul and Shanghai.
