Archer’s Lodge

Sherfield School opened Archer’s Lodge, a dedicated building accommodating 50 students aged 9 to 18. Every room features an ensuite bathroom, comfortable bed, desk with internet access, and wardrobe—thoughtfully designed for independent living. Boys and girls reside in separate wings, while each floor offers spacious common rooms equipped with kitchenettes, televisions, board games, and books. When weather permits, students enjoy the outdoor terrace with shaded seating where they relax and socialize after classes.

Accommodation Options

From age 9, several boarding formats are available: full boarding, weekly boarding with weekends at home, occasional stays, and day boarding until 21:00. Weekly boarders can use the shuttle service to Basingstoke station, which connects to London in just 47 minutes. Located between major motorways and less than an hour from Heathrow and Gatwick airports, the campus proves especially convenient for international families. This accessibility lets students combine countryside living with city weekends and travel without unnecessary hassle.

Boarding Life at Sherfield School

Weekdays begin with breakfast at 7:30, followed by lessons, extracurricular activities, supervised homework sessions, and free time for socializing. Weekends bring excursions, countryside walks, and trips to London—keeping everyone engaged. Each newcomer receives an experienced peer mentor who eases the transition during those first weeks. A structured orientation helps students quickly grasp community traditions, while an independent consultant—an external specialist who visits regularly—remains available whenever additional support is needed.

Student Wellbeing

A dedicated team comprising the head of boarding, house parents, and tutors—all living on-site or within campus grounds—ensures round-the-clock care. A qualified nurse serves during school hours, every staff member holds first aid certification, and a professional counselor provides confidential support when required. Sherfield School maintains ongoing dialogue with families through meetings, correspondence, and workshops that keep parents informed about their child’s progress.
