How does Haarlem Campus differ from state universities?

Rather than following traditional lecture formats, the campus emphasizes hands-on project work that students complete in small groups. Throughout these projects, they receive ongoing feedback from professors, industry coaches, and field experts who bring real-world perspective. Assessments are tailored to each subject’s specific demands instead of relying on standardized exam formats.

What degree will I receive?

Creative Media, Business Psychology, and Digital Transformation Management are all Bachelor of Science programs. The master’s offering, Applied Sustainability Management, awards a Master of Science degree.

Study Format

How long does the bachelor’s program take?

All undergraduate programs at SRH Haarlem University of Applied Sciences run for four years. Each semester divides into three or four five-week modules, with intakes beginning in September and February.

What language is instruction in?

All modules are taught in English.

How many students per group?

Groups cap at 30 students, which allows the CORE concept to maintain its emphasis on individual attention and collaborative learning.

Is an internship required?

Yes, it’s built into the fourth year as part of the curriculum.

Admission and Visa at Haarlem campus

What are the admission requirements?

Applicants need a secondary school certificate—IB, Abitur, A-levels, or equivalent—plus English proficiency at IELTS 6.0+, TOEFL 80+, or Cambridge C (169-172). Dutch havo/vwo graduates with an English credit also qualify.

Is a tuberculosis test required?

Yes, if arriving from a country with elevated TB rates. Schedule an appointment with GGD by emailing tbc@vrk.nl and including full name, date of birth, country of birth, arrival date, and Netherlands address.

Can I work while studying?

What does living in Haarlem cost?

Students typically budget €960 to €1,250 monthly for food, transport, accommodation, books, and leisure activities, excluding tuition fees.

Tuition Payment

Do I need to pay tuition upfront?

European students pay in four installments with a 5% processing fee. Those from other regions cover the first year fully to secure their visa, then switch to the installment plan from the second year onward, following the same structure as European students.

Do I need to transfer full living expenses?

Only if arriving from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, or Nigeria—Haarlem campus collects the complete first-year amount for students from these countries to meet immigration service requirements.
