St Edmund’s College maintains strong A Level performance, with 86% of grades between A* and C—reflecting how thoroughly the Sixth Form prepares its students. The 2025 GCSE results set a school record. During their 2023 inspection, ISI assessors observed that pupils “achieve success in external examinations that often exceeds expectations relative to their starting points.” Beyond academics, students demonstrate exemplary conduct and mutual respect, creating an atmosphere that genuinely supports learning.

St Edmund’s College Status

In November 2023, the school underwent ISI inspection under Framework 23, meeting expected standards across all five areas: leadership, education, physical and mental health, socio-economic wellbeing, and safeguarding. The following May, Catholic Schools Inspectorate (CSI) confirmed Outstanding/Good status, highlighting how students and staff—regardless of faith—embrace the school’s prayer life, which shapes every educational aspect.

HPL World Class School

That same May, St Edmund’s College earned HPL World Class School status, joining a global network of leading institutions. This philosophy draws from Professor Deborah Eyre’s 40-year Oxford research. The accreditation confirms that the school employs evidence-based methods developing both academic abilities and personal attributes—metacognition, creativity, analytical thinking, empathy, persistence, and openness. Teachers access an HPL online community for continuous development, pursuing certification at three levels: HPL Teacher, Expert Teacher, and Teacher Leader.
