Duke of Edinburgh Award

St. Francis’ College offers all three levels of the renowned Duke of Edinburgh Award, with an impressive percentage of girls reaching gold. The program combines volunteering, sports, and skill development, though its real highlight comes through multi-day expeditions across England’s scenic hills. Girls plan their own routes through the Chilterns or Peak District—on foot, by bike, or on horseback—gaining decision-making experience that universities and employers value as highly as academic achievement. Gold recipients are invited to a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Career Guidance

Every student at St. Francis’ College takes the Morrisby profiling assessment, which analyzes aptitudes and suggests suitable careers with current market insights. Following this, she receives a personal consultation with the Head of Careers and can seek advice whenever needed. Meanwhile, the annual Careers Convention brings together over 70 professionals—alumnae and parents—where girls connect with real-world specialists through workshops, learning about career paths firsthand. The Aspirations program adds a personal mentor, projects, and a mandatory internship that distinguishes graduates when applying to competitive university courses.

The Aspirations program includes:

  • персонального наставника на два года
  • самостоятельные исследовательские проекты
  • слежение за работой профессионала
  • полноценную недельную стажировку

Drama at St. Francis’ College

The London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, Britain’s oldest drama school, runs weekly sessions at St. Francis’ College focused on stage speech and performance skills. Rather than theatre training, these lessons build confidence for public speaking, presentations, and interviews—abilities valuable in any career. Classes run for 30 minutes, typically in pairs, allowing girls to learn from each other while working individually or as duets. LAMDA certificates are recognized by employers and universities as proof of communication expertise.

Five Star Week

At the end of summer term, St. Francis’ College—from youngest pupils to seniors—abandons regular timetables for a week. Five Star Week, organized by the headmistress, has become one of the year’s most vibrant events, embodying DREAMS values while offering experiences that wouldn’t fit into standard lessons. The program changes annually, featuring archaeology, cooking, expeditions, or creative projects. For girls before their final year, this includes a mandatory week-long internship that builds professional experience for university applications. They return with fresh interests and confidence that they can pursue any aspiration.
