School Development History

Founded in 2005 as a modest primary institution for ages 3-11, Star has evolved through pivotal milestones over two decades. The breakthrough came in 2019 when its first GCSE cohort achieved strong results, validating its academic approach. Three years later, the campus relocated to expanded facilities before joining ISP (International Schools Partnership), which connects 112 institutions across 25 countries. This partnership brought students into a global community of 110,000 peers supported by 14,000 educators.

British Recognition

The school holds BSO (British Schools Overseas) status from the UK Department for Education, awarded after Ofsted inspection—the government’s sole overseas assessment system. Its partnerships with Pearson Edexcel, AQA, and Oxford International AQA Examinations enable IGCSE and A Level qualifications recognized by universities worldwide, including the Russell Group. Membership in BSME (British Schools in the Middle East), representing over 100 institutions across 10 countries, further confirms its alignment with British educational standards.

Academic Performance at Star International School, Al Twar

Recent A Level results show 97% pass rates, with 38% achieving A-C grades and 14% reaching A-B. For GCSE*, 91% of students score 9-4 (equivalent to A-C), while 67% reach 9-6 (A-B), and 46% attain the highest 9-7 bracket (A-A). These outcomes position graduates for selective universities and their chosen career paths.

Global Network

Through ISP membership, students access international programs including the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award—a youth initiative spanning 130+ countries that recognizes achievements beyond academics. Athletic development extends through DASSA (Dubai Affiliated School Sport Association), the UAE’s largest school sports network, which organizes inter-school competitions and fosters connections among peers from different Dubai institutions while promoting safe sporting culture.
