Canterbury Accommodation Options

Canterbury campus provides three accommodation formats. En-suite rooms combine private bathrooms with shared kitchens, balancing independence and community at £238-£274 weekly (2025 rates). Shared spaces offer more traditional arrangements—private bedrooms but communal bathrooms and kitchens—starting from £145 per week at Darwin College. Those preferring not to cook can add meal plans at £14 daily, allowing them to dine at any campus restaurant.

Pier Quays Complex for University of Kent Students

Situated along the Medway waterfront, this complex houses 1000 students in modern en-suite rooms. A free shuttle connects residents to campus, while the building itself offers 24/7 security, laundry facilities, bike parking, and an on-site Tesco Express. Many residents return for their second and third years, having found community here. Contracts run 38-52 weeks to cover all breaks, with shared kitchens serving 4-10 flatmates.

Included Services

All accommodations include utilities, high-speed WiFi, and Premium Plus membership at Kent Sport. Instead of deposits, residents pay an advance that counts toward their first installment, while ResLife programs help newcomers adapt through organized events. Guaranteed placement goes to those applying by June 30, eliminating housing search stress. University of Kent also provides adapted rooms across six buildings, including Giles Court, which opened in 2025.
