Architecture MEng/BEng

Architecture (Industrial) MEng, BEng merges three professional qualifications—in architecture, structures, and building physics. University of Leeds pioneered this integrated approach in the country, earning recognition from JBM, CIBSE, and RIBA. The curriculum develops both scientific and creative methodologies through architectural history, theory, urban planning, structures, and materials. Flexible study environments accommodate model-making and project development, while a paid year working in the field becomes an essential component of preparation for professional practice.

Architectural Engineering BEng

Architectural Engineering BEng trains engineers to work with new technologies in building design and building systems, carrying accreditation from JBM and CIBSE which meets high professional standards. In addition to studios and model-making workshops, students access an extensive library, industry software, and specialized labs for structures, materials, engineering systems, and geotechnics. After completing the first or second year, students can transition to alternative BEng pathways or four-year MEng routes depending on their evolving interests.

Architecture Design MSc

This program looks at both physical and intangible qualities of urban environments through interdisciplinary methods, connecting architecture with sustainable development via critical discussion and creative practice. Leading academics from the Architecture and Urbanism Research Group at University of Leeds guide the curriculum, while close relationships with major practices facilitate connections to potential employers. An optional module strengthens academic communication skills in engineering, preparing graduates to articulate complex ideas across different work settings and research settings.

Architecture MArch at University of Leeds

Architecture MArch provides an accredited qualification toward professional registration as an architect in the UK, recognized by ARB and scheduled for RIBA accreditation from 2027. The program balances construction and project management with creative and technical problems, delivering modules jointly with MEng Architecture students to foster exchange of perspectives. This collaborative environment extends through student societies that organize networking events, site visits, and workshops, creating opportunities to engage with practicing professionals throughout the course.
