Varieties and Teams at Uptown International School

The Dubai-based school boasts representative teams, groups, and training squads in numerous sports. A large number of students participate and compete in matches, meets, tournaments, and relays. The school is part of the Dubai Affiliated School Sports Association (DASSA) and fields teams in these leagues, as well as in Taaleem school tournaments and events.

Among the sports offered are football, basketball, rugby, swimming, and athletics. The school also partners with the Juventus Academy, providing young footballers with training recognized with regional awards.

Sports Achievements at Uptown International School

The school celebrates the successes of its teams and individual athletes through posts on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #DreamTeamUIS. Annual Sports Awards ceremonies are held for primary (PYP) and secondary (MYP) schools, where all team members, groups, and squads come together to celebrate their sports seasons with the community of staff, students, and parents.

The awards given each year include titles such as “Most Improved Player” and “Most Valuable Player” for each squad, “Spirit of Uptown International School,” “Outstanding Contribution to Sport,” “Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year” for PYP and MYP, and “Team of the Year.”

Elite Sports Pathways

As part of the Taaleem group of schools, Uptown participates in the Taaleem Titans program. Top athletes from all ten schools are selected to join the Taaleem Titans teams. These squads compete in local matches and international tournaments, representing Taaleem and the UAE on a global level. Currently, the program covers basketball and rugby, with plans to expand to other sports soon.
