Accommodation Options
Verbier International School offers several boarding formats so families can choose what works for them. Students can stay year-round, arrive for winter only, return home each weekend, or occasionally use flexi-boarding alongside day attendance.
The boarding house welcomes students from grade seven and occupies Les Touristes, a restored building in Verbier’s historic center. Boys and girls have separate wings, each room includes its own bathroom, while house parents live on-site to provide round-the-clock support.
Daily Routine
After breakfast between seven and eight, students head to classes, then split their afternoons between clubs, sports, and homework in their rooms or shared lounges. Dinner runs from six-thirty to seven-thirty, and these gatherings matter — students exchange stories while house parents keep conversations flowing.
Evenings leave time to finish assignments, watch films, or play board games, with staff ensuring everyone gets attention without burning out. The school’s small size helps children from different ages and backgrounds quickly form friendships that turn into genuine care for one another.
Weekends at Verbier International School
Weekend activities follow the seasons: skiing in winter, mountain biking in summer, plus golf, tennis, and hiking across the hundreds of kilometers of trails surrounding Verbier.
The school also organizes regular trips to Swiss, Italian, and French cities where students explore museums, shops, concerts, and nature reserves. Still, the schedule preserves enough downtime for rest and homework so everyone returns Monday morning refreshed and ready.
Care Philosophy
VIS recognizes that children develop at their own pace, which is why house parents build relationships with students and families on human terms rather than institutional ones. When kids feel supported, they don’t hesitate to tackle challenges, and this confidence helps them grow stronger.
The parent association actively participates in school life, connecting families, teachers, and local Verbier residents into one network of mutual care. Through these bonds, boarding becomes an extension of home — a warm place where children thrive.
