Spiritual Tradition

Worth School builds on Benedictine values that shape its community atmosphere. The Catholic foundation welcomes students of all faiths or none, while a partnership with St John’s Anglican Church in Crowley allows different Christian denominations to worship together. Weekly Abbey Church gatherings invite everyone to reflect on life and their place in society. The Chaplaincy team—comprising Forerunners youth ministers and abbey monks—supports students through prayer, community, and service to others. This “Expedition of Faith” approach encourages exploration rather than imposing practices, letting each person progress at their own pace.

Medical Support

A qualified nurse provides round-the-clock care at the medical center, which holds appointments five times daily for routine concerns. The school doctor visits at least twice weekly, and parents receive updates about any injuries or extended stays their children require. Beyond physical health, an accredited counselor is available throughout the week, with the first three sessions offered free to all students. This ensures they can access professional support when conversations with tutors or chaplains aren’t quite enough to address what they’re facing.

Food

The Refectory and Pitstop cafe serve fresh seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, with everything prepared from scratch on campus using Red Tractor standard meat and sustainably sourced fish. A three-week rotating menu keeps meals varied, while the school maintains a 5-star hygiene rating. Students shape what appears on their plates through a food council that discusses seasonal menus and suggests dishes the community would enjoy, allowing Worth School to accommodate diverse dietary needs while creating a welcoming atmosphere at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Student Protection at Worth School

The Safeguarding team, led by the Deputy Head of Pastoral Care, ensures safety and wellbeing remain central to life at Worth. Students can approach tutors, matrons, or visit the Wellbeing Hub for independent support, while the Forerunners chaplaincy team stands ready to listen and help navigate difficult situations. From their first days, everyone learns who to contact when facing personal concerns or worrying about a classmate. This culture of openness strengthens the community and helps students feel secure, knowing their voices matter.
