Ashbourne College from Students’ Perspective

Independent Sixth Form College, often called Ashbourne College, is where we study. It’s a private sixth form college located in Kensington, London. Established in 1981, our college has a good reputation and is one of the leading A-level colleges in London.

Academic Excellence

Our college is known for good academic results. In the 2022-2023 academic year, 54% of the A-level results were A* or A grades. This is because students get a lot of individual attention, the teaching is good, and we practice a lot for the exams.

University Preparation

Lots of students from our college go on to study at good universities. In 2023, 57% went to Russell Group universities. Ashbourne College helps us a lot with university guidance, and we can choose the courses we want to study to fit with what we want to do in the future.

Teaching Approach

Learning at Ashbourne College is different. They treat us like adults and want us to be confident and responsible for our own success. Classes are small, with fewer than 10 students, so we get a lot of attention. We also get more teaching hours than in other places, which helps us cover all the material and have time for revision.

Pastoral Care and Student Life Our college really cares about our happiness and gives us a lot of support. We’re encouraged to respect each other, work together, and feel safe. There are also clubs and activities like football, Bollywood dancing, finance club, Model United Nations, and Creative Writing for us to have fun and learn.

Facilities and Location

We like the college’s location because it’s near great places like the Natural History Museum and Hyde Park. The main building has everything we need for studying, like a library, computers, labs for science, and ICT.

Diversity and Inclusivity

Our college is really diverse, with students from around 50 different countries. It’s a friendly and relaxed place, but we also have to be disciplined and act professionally.

Scholarships and Specialized Programmes Ashbourne offers scholarships for Music, Drama, and English Literature that can cover up to 100% of tuition fees. They also have special programs to help with applying to universities for medicine, engineering, and Oxbridge.
