Cultural Mix

Over a thousand students from more than 60 countries study at American School of Madrid, which maintains a deliberate enrollment balance: one-third Americans, one-third Spaniards, and one-third from elsewhere. This composition turns daily life into genuine international practice, where young people learn to navigate different perspectives and bridge cultures—skills that will serve them well wherever they pursue higher education.

Modern Campus

In 2021, a zero-energy middle school building opened here, a rarity even by European standards. Two years later came Don Quijote Park, among the continent’s most advanced play landscapes. The 11-acre campus in a prestigious Madrid suburb houses two gyms, football fields, a 600-seat theater, science labs, and an arts studio.

American School of Madrid Diplomas

All graduates receive an American diploma, many add the International Baccalaureate, and those interested can pursue Spanish curriculum simultaneously. The IB average here runs nearly four points above the global mark. Results reflect this preparation: 123 acceptances from top-100 U.S. universities and 67 from leading institutions worldwide, including Duke, Columbia, UCLA, and King’s College London.

Support System

Psychologists work in each division alongside learning specialists and nurses who know students by name. Newcomers receive mentors while parent associations help families settle in. Upper-grade students complete 150 hours of creative and volunteer activities designed to develop empathy and agency—nurturing responsible citizens rather than merely accomplished scholars.
