Exploring the Foundation Programme

The Foundation Programme at Bath Academy stands out as a rigorous one-year course aimed at preparing students for entry into top UK universities. It serves as a robust alternative to traditional qualifications like A Levels or the International Baccalaureate, catering specifically to students from the UK, EU, and other international backgrounds who completed their secondary education outside the UK. With a wide array of pathways available, the programme opens doors to virtually all undergraduate courses.

Tailored Learning and Academic Excellence at Bath Academy

Bath Academy prides itself on its small, diverse classes that foster personalized learning and exceptional academic outcomes. This approach has consistently led to high success rates, with every UFP student securing placements in their chosen universities, many of which belong to the prestigious Russell Group.

Unlike programmes tied to specific universities, the UFP at Bath Academy empowers students with the freedom to apply to any university of their choice. From the outset, the academy offers comprehensive academic guidance, supporting students through the UCAS application process and personal statement development.

Accreditation and Course Structure

The quality of the UFP is upheld by rigorous oversight from academic partners including UCL, Brunel University, City University London, Royal Holloway University of London, and the University of Southampton. The programme boasts articulation agreements with a diverse range of universities, ensuring seamless progression for graduates.

At Bath Academy, the UFP curriculum comprises six subject-specific modules, three compulsory secondary modules (Mathematics, IT Skills, and Communication Skills/IELTS preparation), and three elective main modules aligned with students’ intended fields of study.

Entry Requirements and Enhanced Foundation Pathway

Prospective UFP students must demonstrate successful completion of secondary education and a proficient level of English (IELTS 5.5 with no sub-score below 5.0). For international students requiring additional support in English language proficiency, Bath Academy offers an Enhanced UFP course. This intensive four-term programme equips students with enhanced language skills and academic readiness prior to commencing the standard UFP.
