Origins and Early Years

Brillantmont International School, situated in Lausanne, Switzerland, was established in 1882 by Paul and Berthe Heubi. As one of the oldest boarding schools in Switzerland, it has been under the continuous management of the Frei family for five generations. The school originally functioned as a finishing school for girls, located in Château de Lutry. In pursuit of a more central setting, the school was relocated to its current premises in Lausanne in 1896.

Development and Changes

Brillantmont has undergone several transformations throughout its history. It shifted from a girls-only day school to include boys in 1968, with the boarding facilities becoming coeducational in 1992. Its curriculum has expanded from primarily French-based to now offering American and British educational programs, preparing students for global qualifications such as the IGCSE, AS, A Levels, and the American High School Diploma.

Today, Brillantmont hosts about 150 students from over 35 different nationalities, aged between 13 and 18.
