Additional Opportunities

Student Council

Each year, elections are held for representatives of both primary and senior classes. Senior students choose their representatives, while primary students do the same for theirs. Classmates vote for these representatives. The British School of Geneva’s Student Council advocates for student interests and proposes improvements for the school environment. Council members discuss significant topics like online safety and anti-bullying efforts. They also organize various fundraising events. When delegations from international organizations such as the UN visit the school, council representatives serve as ambassadors.

Kindness Ambassadors at the British School of Geneva

Students who wish to make the school a better and kinder place can become Kindness Ambassadors. They work alongside leaders from the student welfare department, who are teachers focused on students’ psychological and social well-being. These ambassadors receive special training that helps them enhance overall student satisfaction. They brainstorm ways to make studying less stressful and more enjoyable.

Book Buddies

“Book Buddies” also play a crucial role. Senior students read to younger ones, helping them understand that reading can be both fun and beneficial. This practice not only boosts interest in books but also fosters interaction and learning through reading. Book Buddies share their favorite stories and books, promoting a love for reading.

Role of Mentors

Active participation in various initiatives also includes the presence of mentors. These are senior students who help younger ones adapt to new conditions. Mentors provide guidance on how to organize their time, adjust to studying at the British School of Geneva, and get along with classmates.

Public relations are also of significant importance. Students actively participate in international projects and initiatives. They are often invited to engage in cultural exchanges and educational programs, which help them understand other cultures better and develop a sense of global responsibility.

Student Support

Finally, student support is always a top priority. It is important that everyone feels heard and valued. The British School of Geneva creates all the necessary conditions to achieve this, implementing modern methods and approaches. All the initiatives mentioned contribute to creating a friendly and supportive environment.
