Accommodation System
Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts matches accommodation to age. Under-18s live at Varsity House, a full boarding residence where experienced house staff maintain supervision. Once they turn 18, students can choose Batim House or independent blocks within Varsity House that allow more autonomy.
All rooms are single with en-suite bathrooms, arranged in clusters of 6-8 that share communal kitchens and dining spaces — fostering friendships among creative minds from around the globe.
Varsity House for Younger Students
Younger students live at Varsity House, a minute’s walk from the Sturton Street studios and seven minutes by bike from Cambridge centre. House staff reside on-site, a registered nurse works in the medical centre, and reception stays attended around the clock.
Furnished rooms include storage, while communal kitchens, lounges with a pool table, and a courtyard with table tennis encourage social life — blending necessary supervision with gradual independence.
Accommodation for Students Over 18
Students over 18 typically stay at Batim House, a fully refurbished 29-room residence seven minutes by bike from campus. The three-storey building has three kitchens, a laundry, and two lounges, with an on-site caretaker handling practical matters.
Alternatively, older students can choose adult blocks within Varsity House, which blend independent living with accessible house staff support — striking a balance between freedom and security.
Facilities at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts
Younger students receive full board with meals served at both campuses — Sturton Street and Bridge House. Menus include hot dishes, salad bars, soups, and desserts reflecting diverse nationalities. Older students cook independently or buy from the campus café, which stocks sandwiches, snacks, and drinks.
Both residences at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts offer free laundry, weekly linen changes for boarders, and a 24-hour helpline for urgent concerns.
