Application Process
Families can explore what Embley School offers by attending various open events before deciding to apply. The process begins when they complete an online form and pay a non-refundable £100 fee, which secures their child’s place on the candidate list—though this doesn’t guarantee admission. Once registered, prospective students are invited to taster days where they can meet potential classmates and teachers.
Applying to Embley School
Families need to submit references from their child’s current school along with the latest report. What happens next depends on entry level: nursery candidates participate in settling-in sessions before a taster day, primary applicants complete written exams and cognitive tests, while those entering secondary take an English exam with mathematics added from Year 8. Sixth Form entry requires five GCSEs graded 5-9, including English and mathematics.
Scholarships
Scholarships are offered for Years 7, 9, and Sixth Form across categories including academic achievement, art, music, drama, and sport. Recipients are expected to demonstrate dedication and leadership in their field while contributing positively to school life and serving as role models for peers. Applications require a questionnaire and personal statement, with assessments and interviews conducted in January ahead of a September start.
