Programs for Talented Students

Farringtons School runs a program for gifted students that’s built around personal mentorship and tailored plans. Working with dedicated mentors, these young people dive deeper into subjects where they excel, developing their strengths at a pace that suits them. This structured approach helps them reach ambitious goals without the pressure of rigid frameworks, making intellectual growth feel natural rather than forced.

Unique Events at Farringtons School

A series of events here broadens perspectives beyond the classroom. Sapientiem Talks brings in speakers like Chris Whitty and Mallory Blackman, while workshops with established authors and theatre companies develop research and presentation skills. These experiences encourage students to seek knowledge independently and share what they discover with confidence—abilities that prove valuable long after they leave.

The Passport Challenge

Designed for Years 7-9, this initiative sets diverse tasks ranging from podcast creation to business plans. Through these challenges, participants build communication skills, leadership qualities, and problem-solving abilities. Those who complete the program successfully earn a trip, which serves as both reward and motivation to engage fully with what’s being asked of them.

Educational Trips

The “Explore, Discover, Achieve” program offers excursions that spark curiosity. Younger students visit the O2 Arena and travel to France and York, while older ones head to Real Madrid’s youth academy, trek through Malaysian jungles, and attend dance masterclasses. These trips reveal the world from fresh angles.

Academic Competitions

STEM olympiads in mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics challenge students to test their abilities. Farringtons School encourages participation in competitions like the British Mathematical Olympiad, where they can measure their knowledge against peers nationally and gain recognition for what they’ve achieved. It’s a chance to see how deep their understanding really goes.

Extracurricular Opportunities

The extended day program includes orchestra, football, swimming, and drama. These activities support emotional wellbeing while developing life skills and providing space for creative expression. Music opportunities feature individual and group lessons delivered by specialists from Bromley Youth Music Trust, covering a wide range of instruments and vocal training.
