School Profile
Situated on 55 acres of serene Herefordshire countryside, Lucton School represents educational excellence for children from 6 months to 18 years old. This institution is not just about imparting knowledge; it cultivates independent, curious minds ready to chart their paths and achieve great success.
International Admission at Lucton School
Lucton takes pride in its cosmopolitan student body, welcoming students from around the world. The admission process mirrors the UK entry process and includes an online CAT4 assessment, submission of the current school report and passport copy, followed by an interview that can be conducted in person or via Zoom.
Upon admission, a non-refundable registration fee is required, along with a one-term deposit, refundable after the student leaves the school. Notably, all international students must have a UK guardian, preferably AEGIS-registered, within a three-hour drive from the school.
Nursery and Preparatory School
Lucton’s nursery, located within the preparatory school grounds, offers a nurturing environment for the youngest learners. The curriculum, focusing on sensory play, aims to develop creativity and basic social and motor skills. The extensive outdoor space provides ideal conditions for exploration and physical activity, promoting holistic development.
Transitioning into the preparatory school, students at Lucton School engage in a balanced learning regime that emphasizes curiosity and a love for learning. With small class sizes and dedicated teaching staff, the school ensures a personalized approach for each student. The curriculum is enriched with various extracurricular activities, including sports, music, and drama, fostering well-rounded development.
Middle, Senior, and Sixth Form
As students progress into the middle and senior schools, the curriculum becomes more ambitious, encouraging deeper subject exploration and independent thinking. The absence of SATs allows for more thorough subject coverage, easing the transition to higher education. Lucton School’s commitment to excellence is evident in the outstanding GCSE results, supported by small classes and exceptional teaching.
The sixth form at Lucton is a critical stage, focusing on A Levels and university preparation. Students benefit from specialized tutors who assist with university applications, ensuring each student secures a place at their chosen institution.
The sixth form environment promotes leadership and self-confidence, offering opportunities to participate in the Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program, further enhancing students’ readiness for university and future careers.
