Location in the Cotswolds
Rendcomb College sits in the heart of the Cotswolds, where 230 acres of woodland, deer parks, and historic gardens provide an environment that naturally supports both academic focus and personal growth. While the campus feels remote enough to offer genuine tranquility, it’s hardly isolated—London lies 90 minutes away by car, with Oxford, Bristol, and Bath each about an hour’s drive, giving students access to major cultural centers whenever they need them.
Four Houses of Rendcomb College
The boarding system follows the traditional house structure, distributing students across four residences based on age. Younger pupils in years 7-9 live in Godman House, sharing rooms with two or three others in spaces that feel comfortably sized rather than cramped. Older students move to Lawn House and Stable House, where they get individual rooms they can personalize. Graduates preparing for university life have The Old Rectory, which helps ease the transition to independence.
Flexible Boarding Options
Rather than dividing students into rigid categories, Rendcomb creates a unified community through flexible arrangements. Occasional boarding allows students to stay for a few nights each term—perhaps after an evening concert or when celebrating a classmate’s birthday. Weekly boarding offers a more structured pattern, with families choosing specific days throughout the term. In both cases, students share rooms with full boarders, which naturally integrates everyone into the same social fabric.
Student Support
Each boarder works with a personal tutor who monitors everything from academic progress to emotional well-being, supported by houseparents and key-stage coordinators who form the pastoral care team. Beyond academics, students participate in sports evenings, orienteering challenges, laser tag sessions, and nighttime walks across the grounds, while those in years 11-13 can visit The Crypt, the school’s dedicated evening venue.
