Admission

Admission Process

The admission journey begins when families request information through the website, which opens access to campus visits and meetings with the admissions team. Since available spots are limited, early application matters. Through the online platform MY SEK Admissions, families submit required documents—parents’ and child’s passports, birth certificate, and previous year’s grades. Those unable to visit in person can arrange remote interviews. Once the committee reviews all materials, they send their decision to the family.

Scholarships and Financial Support

Each year, the Felipe Segovia Foundation opens applications for several scholarship types at SEK El Castillo International School Madrid. Academic excellence scholarships cover International Baccalaureate program costs, while sports grants help talented athletes balance training with their studies. The Maria de Villota scholarship specifically supports students who demonstrate personal determination and resilience. Graduates can also pursue grants from Camilo José Cela University, part of the SEK education group, which allows them to continue their education at preferential university rates. Since these opportunities are awarded competitively, families should prepare and submit documents well ahead of deadlines.

Student Support at El Castillo International School

The school in Madrid has built a comprehensive support system that accompanies children throughout their development. Its psychological-pedagogical department works with all age groups, identifying learning challenges early and helping teachers design individual pathways for each child. These specialists also prepare progress reports for parents and advise seniors on university applications. A medical service with both doctor and nurse operates throughout the school day, providing first aid and conducting annual health examinations. The Stellar program serves gifted students, while those needing additional practice receive targeted support in English and Spanish.

Student Insurance

The school offers an optional insurance program that ensures educational continuity if unexpected circumstances affect a family. This coverage extends to tuition, meals, transportation, learning materials, and medical care, including psychological support when needed, giving parents confidence about their children’s future. For international students, medical insurance—along with guardianship services—becomes a mandatory enrollment requirement, since SEK El Castillo Madrid welcomes students from various countries and aims to provide everyone equal access to quality care during their time studying in Spain.
