At SEK El Castillo International School Madrid, creative disciplines form a cornerstone of education. This approach translates into practice through early exposure, allowing children to engage with various artistic forms from their first years and continue refining these skills through graduation.

Arts Baccalaureate

SEK El Castillo International School Madrid stands among the few institutions offering an Arts Baccalaureate through the LOMLOE program. This track welcomes students passionate about design, painting, sculpture, or cinematography. Upon completion, graduates can take the EVAU exam to pursue university studies in visual arts, design, or art history, while the diploma also opens doors to careers in advertising, fashion, architecture, journalism, and television.

Music at SEK El Castillo Madrid

Musical education begins at ages four to five, with children learning their first instruments during elementary years. Students prepare for ABRSM and Trinity Rock and Pop certifications under conservatory-trained instructors, while participating in the choir and orchestra that bring together different age groups.

The musical facilities include:

• Percussion: 3 drum kits, cajons, batucada drums, 86 percussion instruments
• Keyboards: 3 acoustic pianos, 8 digital pianos, 10 keyboards
• Strings: 17 violins, 5 cellos, double bass, electric violins
• Winds: saxophones, flutes, trumpets, trombone
• Guitars: 15 classical, 5 electric, 4 bass guitars
• Studio: 16 amplifiers, mixing consoles, studio monitors

Theater and Clubs

Theater work integrates with the language curriculum while developing public speaking abilities. Through membership in the ISTA association, students participate in inter-school theatrical workshops. Additional offerings include an arts club for seniors, a dance club, and a dedicated theater group for boarding students. Partnership with UCJC university provides access to master classes in digital art and animation within a contemporary media lab.
