Preschoolers
The youngest learners follow the British EYFS standard through play and exploration, with each child choosing a mentor who becomes their trusted guide and the bridge between school and home. From age three, they encounter phonics alongside Spanish or French, music, and choir, while reading, writing, and numeracy emerge naturally as they investigate the world at their own pace.
Primary Years
Until Year 6, students explore cross-curricular themes that weave together subjects—from family and local community to Ancient Egypt and twentieth-century inventors, making knowledge memorable rather than fragmented. Specialist teachers join the journey from Year 3 for languages, music, PE, drama, and design, while later years bring deeper work in sciences and the Accelerated Reader program, which helps students choose books thoughtfully and track their progress.
Middle Years at Sherfield School
Sherfield School offers a three-year GCSE course starting in Year 9, allowing more time for preparation. Beyond mandatory mathematics, English, and sciences, students select four subjects from a broad spectrum without rigid blocks or imposed combinations. Options include not only standard disciplines but also psychology, media studies, economics, classical civilization, and even astronomy, enabling teenagers to follow their interests and build unique profiles.
Senior Years
The final years combine traditional A-Levels, vocational BTEC, and the innovative International Advanced Diploma, which develops seven future-ready skills from critical thinking to ethical leadership and was created with the University of Melbourne through partnerships with Yale and Durham. Students also choose personalized pathways—STEM and engineering, environmental studies, the arts, global leadership, or medical sciences—while the school provides the Extended Project Qualification, native language exams, and Up Learn subscriptions for technical fields.
