Student studios
Haarlem Campus offers fully equipped studios ranging from 22 to 33 square meters, each featuring a bed, sofa, chairs, lighting, plus a private kitchenette and bathroom. Since bedding, kitchen essentials, and furniture are already included in the rent, residents only need to bring personal items. These spaces were renovated in February 2023 and have been welcoming tenants from around the world ever since. Contracts run for 12 months, with move-in scheduled one to two weeks before classes begin—though pets aren’t allowed.
Rent at Haarlem campus
As of 2025, monthly housing fees at SRH Haarlem start at €1,050 and go up depending on room size. This covers utilities, internet, water, and electricity. When moving in, tenants pay a two-month security deposit alongside a one-time booking fee of €215, which includes contract processing plus a kitchen and bedding starter set. Students may also qualify for housing allowance from the Dutch government—check the huurtoeslag section at belastingdienst.nl for details.
Beyond campus
While SRH Haarlem University of Applied Sciences provides studios, students can explore external platforms like Funda, Pararius, Kamernet, The Student Hotel, and Housing Anywhere for apartments and rooms across Haarlem. Major housing corporations—SSH Student Housing, DUWO, and DeKey—also rent out spaces, though they typically require a registration fee. Social media groups such as Haarlem Rental House & Apartment often feature fresh listings from landlords too.
Booking process
Room applications open only after admission to Haarlem campus, with instructions arriving via email. Confirming a booking requires a €500 referral deposit—deadlines fall on July 15 for September intake and December 15 for February. Once a studio is selected, landlords issue invoices covering the administrative fee, prorated rent through month’s end, and payment for the final two full months of the contract.
